Choeroed Religion
Choeroeds, like humans, are very varied in their beliefs and religions. However, all religions on Choeroea have some connection to a supernatural being, Ko. The Ko Nebula encompasses the entire Alkon system, and the Choeroeds believe it to be their god. However, various beliefs have arisen from the worship of Ko.
(A note on the Ko Nebula – While the origin of the Alkon system and of a great many other celestial bodies, the Ko Nebula has been, for billions of years, essentially dead. While still a beautiful green color due to the gasses that compose it, it is no longer producing stars. Twassecc astronomers, when they pointed this out, caused a great deal of turmoil in the Choeroed religions.)
Koism – The most common and basic belief system on Choeroa, Koism is believed to be thousands of years old. In this religion, Choeroeds believe that their planet (And entire system) is resting within Ko, the almighty god of space. In Koism, Ko rewards valor. Choeroed Koists work their entire life, achieving a valiant lifestyle. Unlike several other religions, this does not include fighting. Valiance to the Koists includes acceptance, love for others, and good deeds. Due to this, Koist Choeroeds (And therefore most Choeroeds) are much less apt to take up arms in the war than other species. The Koists maintain a healthy relationship with the Flispians, and refuse to attack them under any circumstances. Koists believe that the reward for living a valiant life is becoming a star in the Ko Nebula. It is the ultimate goal for them to give back to their god, who has given so much to them. Koism promotes good health, as every Koist wants to be in the best shape possible for when Ko needs them. (A point to note: Koists have always been the majority of Choeroed population, and always generally in control. Due to their fear of hurting Ko, the Choeroeds never pursued space travel on their own.)
Lessism (Pronounced Leese-ism) – A smaller, but, unfortunately, rapidly multiplying religion, Lessism has many of the same beliefs as Koism, but instead believes that one can only become a star of Ko if they were powerful in life. Lessism displays Choeroed afterlife as more of a competition, and Lessists are much, much more violent than Koists. (Much like Koists, Lessists believe strongly in Ko, and therefore were afraid to leave space)
Attilism – Named after Attilon, the Choeroed Admiral before Trigaal, Attilism embraces the scientific discoveries by the twasseccs, namely that the Ko Nebula has ceased to produce stars. The Attilists believe that the nebula has stopped because Choeroeds, in their extended period of peace, were no longer worthy of becoming stars. They believe that to achieve a valiant life, a Choeroed must aid the war effort. They believe that Ko sent the twasseccs to give them a way to fulfill his requirements. As you might expect, the Attilists are the most violent Choeroeds, and make up most of the air force, space force, and ground force. (Attilists, while they fear injuring Ko, feel it is more important to become valiant, and believe Ko has commanded them to travel to other planets. They, therefore, do not have problems with space travel.)
Pseudoseccism – “False Twasseccism” is the rather derogatory term given to Choeroeds who believed and despaired the twasseccs’ observation. They renounce their religion, and often either proceed to religions from other world (yes, there are Choeroed pseudoseccs that believe in the Sigwar polygamy), or take the more common, twassecc-like approach and believe nothing but science. Either way, Pseudoseccs are also often soldiers. (Obviously, Pseudoseccs, since they no longer believe in Ko, have no problem injuring him by leaving the planet.)
