The Twasseccs have a very action-packed history, filled with many sad 'misunderstandings' that eventually escalated into pure hatred for their one time friends, the Ure. Following is a general timeline:
~16 years before impact-
Twasseccs and Ure are living in a mutually benifiting relationship free of war and pestilence on the planet Twassure. Almost all families have relationships with at least one member of the other species, and many are close friends. The Ure and the Twasseccs have two major differences that, after a brief conflict, they have learned to overlook. The Ure are highly religious, while the Twasseccs do not believe in any higher powers, choosing to attribute everything to science. The other difference is that the Ure have (through their religion) evolved rudimentary psychic abilities, and this made the Twasseccs uncomfortable. Fortunately, they have come to a silent agreement that these things don't matter and are in a harmonic relationship.
~12 years before impact-
Twassecc scientist Elitri Kaft makes a startling discovery during field research one day: A downed Kittek cruiser. The Kittek of course were part of the Twassecc and the Ure's lives, but both species agreed that if the Kittek would leave them alone and not force them to actively participate in the war, they would supply them with food, metal, and whatever materials they would ever need in addition to open firing on any Ees craft on their homeworld. Regardless, the downed cruiser was, contrary to the terms in the agreement, strip mined and raided for the wealth of information on board. It was here that the Twasseccs learned the secrets of tumultuous energy, how to harness it, and how to best use it. They practiced and soon became very proficient with the energy, unbeknownst to the Kittek and the Ure (And to most of the Twassecc population).
~12 years before impact-
The Ure begin to suspect that the Twasseccs are holding secrets that could benifit their race. Obviously true, the Twassecc democracy denied it vehemently. The Ure decide to drop the issue because they can psychically tell that the politicians are telling the truth. They begin to spy on the Twasseccs, knowing that regardless of what the public knew, there was a vital secret being withheld from them.
~ 9 years before impact-
The Twasseccs and Ure hold a meeting. Both have news for the other species, and it is the same. Ure psychics have sensed that something terrible will happen to the planet within the decade. Twasseccs confirm this. There is a tremendous meteorite that will impact the planet in approximately nine years, destabalizing the orbit and destroying all life on the surface. They call to the Kittek, desperate for help, but are shunned because they will not join the war against the Ees. The Twasseccs finally decide that the only way to save the living creatures is to leave Twassure for good. They take a deep breath and reveal their news on tumultuous energy to the public.
~8 years before impact-
Twassecc society is split in two for political reasons. Elitri Kaft is assassinated by a growing faction that call themselves the Army for the Liberation of the Planet Twassure. Most refer to them as the "Army"... nobody has any doubts what army you refer to when this word is uttered any more. The secrets of tumultuous are stolen and the Army begins to construct tremendous cruisers, intent on joining the Kittek in the war. The remaining democracy works together with the Ure and tries to build up transports for evacuation while simultaneously manufacturing a huge weapon to be controlled by the Ure for destroying the meteorite. The democracy decides to leave the Army be, for there is nothing they can do any longer to help them.
~2 years before impact-
The huge space weapon is ready. It is to fire a tremendous tumultuous shot, guided by the psyichic abilities of the Ure. All pray (Figuratively... Twasseccs don't pray) that the weapon will destroy the incoming projectile. The weapon is fired. The psychic powers of the Ure, using their Psychic Amplifiers, help guide the shot. At first it appears a direct hit, but then a Ure traitor on board the weapon focuses all his energy on destroying the concentration of the others. He succeeds. The ball of tumultuous energy, no longer held together by psychic power, explodes violently, taking the space weapon and all Twasseccs and Ure on board with it. The Twassecc Democracy witnesses the explosion and believe the Ure intended the whole thing. Almost 75% of remaining Democratics join the Army, 'realizing the Ure's traitorous ways at last'.
4 days before impact-
The transports are launched, containing the remaining Twasseccs who trusted their friends more than their eyes and all of the Ure. They leave Twassure in a massive convoy and encounter the Army, who had launched three days prior to the transports. They had constructed a tremendous spacecraft that was large enough to hold everyone in the Army, in addition to an immense battlecruiser. The convoy attempts to leave. The battlecruiser, utilizing some magnetic weapon, forces all of the transports containing twasseccs back onto the planet to await their doom. The tremendous spaceraft, known as The Flagship, fired on the Ure. Almost all Ure escaped.
Day of the Impact-
The meteorite hits, destroying the planet Twassure as it once was. At this moment, the Twassecc Democracy ceases to be. They are never heard from or seen again. The Army drops their title, as they are the only remaining Twasseccs, and go to join the Kittek in their war against the Ees, only to find that there were no Kittek remaining...
