"One Erkan until departure!"
Goob: The Targa (the ball thing's proper name) falls into the lava far below... Many flispians are looking at you with distaste. (This action is akin to kicking a dog, here on earth) None of them say anything for fear of retribution, but you somehow know that everyone who saw this will do their best to make your life miserable. Unfortunately, the conductor (Flispian with odd hat) also saw you do this. Punting is one thing, but tossing it off a ledge is another. While the Targa is perfectly fine, it undoubtedly went to a lot of trouble to get all the way up here.

"Fury, this Flispian, was just trying to get our attention, which he suceeded in doing don't you agree? He is merely having troubles with a friend who may be in trouble. It seems that some Ure, the hairy creatures you see prowling about, have been abducting different people and sending them off to war, and then giving their resources away. So this Flispian here, has hired me to help him with this endangered friend and anybody else who may have been taken away."
I brought my voice to a lower tone. "Personally, I also have a vendetta against these Ure. So I'm very motivated to join this Flispian in his cause. So partner will you accompany me on this trip? I shall ofcourse share the profits with you."
After filling in Fury on the information, I let her think on her decision while I glanced around to see if there were any Ure watching us. I'm quite familiar with all of the Ure's different abilities, especially mind control. After seeing them swarming all over the planet I was catious about them finding out about my mining ambitions. If their attention was caught with that Flispian yelling about the mining, they might be listening to us talking about thwarting their new "drafting technique."
My eyes probably being the keenest aside from Furdol, I wanted to keep a look out for the rest of the group. I may be an evil, cruel, and tricky Snodeck, but when it comes to taking down the Ure, I'll team myself up with pretty much anybody. This mineral deposit is very valuable to the Ure, I must at least get the mineral harvesting opperation started and supervised before I leave the planet. I'll need somebody to help me find proper accomodations.
I look at the Flispian. He must be quite catious about me, considering the fact that I'm a Snodeck. I shall have to earn his trust, and then get him to help me find proper mineral harvesters.

"Ooooooooooooohhhh," I nod, understanding Sir Gilder's explanation. "A friend... is like an ally, right? Okay, I get it. Sure I'll go with you on this trip," I said.
But I still didn't like how the fiery-hand-guy got our attenti--- got us to listen. I had better manners than that, and I just recently learned that word.
Once the 'Ure' left the... "thing", I decided to go in there and show 'em a piece o' my mind. "HEY!! Fiery-hand!! I don't like the way you get people to listen to you, so if you do it again, I'll... Just don't do it again. You're not stupid if you're talking to my partner, so it shouldn't be that hard to understa-- to... get. So, yeah. Don't do it again. If you do, then mark my words, fiery-ha... uh, wait, what's your name?"
---------------------------------------------------
Yeah, that last part was worthless, but I just needed to get him to tell me his name so I don't have to keep saying guy-with-the-fiery-hand. Lol.

I look down at the little Tockneff, who is violently shaking her guns about and the individual who shot me just moments before...
"I am sorry, little Tockneff. Fury, I believe I've heard. Surely that isn't your real name... Surely you don't mean to retain your badge of violence, failure, and servitude? Never mind. It is not my place to question that. I am Kek'Tar, and I had to be so violent with your master to prove a point. He is of a very smart and conniving species that desires money and luxury above all else. I cannot provide him with either right away, so I had to find some other means, namely brutality, to catch his attention. I think we may have much use for each other now that he has heard what I have to say. I know for what he seeks and can help him get it. Alternatively, I can lose it for him should I choose. I apologize for irritating you. I don't plan to do it again. Not too keen on being shot again, anyway..."
I recline, awaiting the MagTran's departure. (As in Devvyn's post...)

All I understood from all he said was that his name was Kek'Tar, he doesn't plan on doing it again, and... wait, what was that about a master? Oh, he means my partner, I think.... Sir Gilder isn't my master. Nobody's my master. And if anybody tries to be my master, I'll kill them.
And what was that about wanting money above all else? Geez, who does this Kek'Tar think he is!? He's bad-mouthing my partner!!
But, whatever. Perhaps he's just ignorant. I shouldn't even waste my breath on him. Hopefully, his ally will be smarter and worth the trip.
So, I leave Kek'Tar alone, and wait. Nothing else left for me to do, really, except to wait 'til we go on the trip.... unless Sir Gilder says anything.

"Ooooooooooooohhhh, a friend... is like an ally, right? Okay, I get it. Sure I'll go with you on this trip."
Fury, ofcourse, agrees with me. Then turns to scold the Flispian. He in turn, ofcourse, attempts to turn the Tockneff against me. I'm not worrying; it's been tried before, and they never understand. Once you get them far enough into your service, they cannot comprehend anything else. I was somewhat worried when I had to deal with Furdol, but it's all turned out quite nicely.
I hate these transports on other planets. There are no seats that are properly made for Snodeck to sit on. Even though it's been 15 Snodeck years since our discovery, there are still planets that haven't made proper conversions in their vehicles for our comfort. I just don't understand it. No matter, I shall merely have stand.
I want to talk to Kek'Tar, but the things that I have to say must not reach Fury's ears. I must distract her.
"Fury, my friend, will you please assist me in watching out for strange behavior in any of the Ure that may be around here, I must speak with Kek'Tar; I shall fill you in with what we say later. (it's not like I'm giving her a completely empty task just to distract her either...I'm trully really concerned about the Ure hearing what I say)."
I walk over to Kek'Tar to properly introduce myself. I shall most definitely require his guidance services when we reach this mining colony he spoke of.
"Ah, greetings Kek'Tar, my name is Sir Gilder Fithlingsmon Snodesben se Klex. I am CEO of Fithlingsmon Co., a Noble of the Patriarchy of Klex, and great-grandson to the All-High Klex, the Patriarch of Klex. I'm trully impressed with your strength; true, Flispians are very strong beings, yet strength that allows one to carry two very big Snodeck like myself definitely has room for compliment! I imagine, after hearing the disclaimers in your speach to get us to join you, that you have very much distrust for Snodeck, and understandably so! But I'm here to tell you that you can trust me! Yes, I may think about money occassionally, but who doesn't think about different ways to attain money once and a while? Is there really something wrong with gaining a bit more money than the usual? And finally," here I lower my voice, "If we are to thwart the Ure's plans, then there cannot be any walls between us. This is mineral deposit that my intelligence has informed me of." I turn my laptop so Kek'Tar can view the stats on the mineral deposit, "It is extremely rare, and very valuable. The Ure require these deposits almost more than any other mineral in the galaxy. Not only does it provide the raw material for important pieces to their head plates, but it is also used in some of their most complicated psy-weapons. Here's where you come in: I require your assistance in finding and hiring the most effective mineral harvesters possible. You know this planet, you know the most efficient workers, and you know who will get it done at the best price. Here are the reasons why you should help me: If I get to these minerals first, then it will set the Ure back in their progress for months! Second, my payments to the harvesters will highly increase the quality of your community's economy. Thirdly, I'm willing to give you a share of the profit that I shall recieve from selling or using the raw materials of this deposit. And really now, a Snodeck can only swindle so much. It's not like we can drive absolutely every non-Snodeck competitor into bankruptcy. It'll be your entire community against me. Do you really think that I shall be able to swindle you all? If you still don't trust me not to swindle you, then at least think of my ability to actually be able to do it."
I swing back the lap-top and take another look around for Ure, somewhere to sit, and assurance that Fury didn't hear me.

I gaze at the nifty 3d display of a mineral deposit. I can recognize parts of the map that floats lazily above it as a few hundred miles north of the Cimber Island Chain. I had used the region now displayed before me as a racing strip, renting low-altitude machines and racing my friends and family when I was but a flispling. Gilder snaps his laptop closed, interrupting my flashback. He seems slightly paranoid. I clear my throat a moment before speaking.
"Yes. I can definately help you get that material. It's lucky of you to have come so quickly. I live in Kinsannak. While I'm not a miner, I have learned a few things. I do know that there is a group of Flispians slowly heading up towards that region, mining as they go. They will certainly reach the area within a series. Once we reach Kinsannak, I can give you a list of flispians like myself that would happily mine the deposit in secret to keep the Ure from getting it. I have a feeling they'll work for fairly little, but they'll need machines. This, Gilder, is where I can help more. The company that I worked in until just today is a vehicular engineering company. My boss has passed his assets on to me and thus I feel I might just be able to procure some experimental mining vehicles. I promise you, some of them will oudo just about anything on the market. Prototypes and such, deemed too spendy and canceled or simply put on hold. I'm not sure, but I may be able to get a small fleet of harvesters for a low cost."
"However, you misunderstand me. I do not fear a loss of money. I have lived my whole life in near-poverty and I'm probably soon to become a fugitive. What I fear is someone paying you off and you betraying us. I am afraid of Snodeck. They are not only money-loving, but also tricky and largely moral-less."
"As you said, though, if we are to join together there should be no secrets. I will expand a bit on what has happened. I have a choeroed friend, Akiir, who has noticed people being randomly drafted and sent to their almost-certain doom, having their wills immediately completed. He has now been drafted in the same manner. Similarly, my boss recently disappeared and gave his assets to me. I have reason to believe I could be drafted in short order. With my ship that I now legally own, I plan to fly to the Alkon asteroid belt to meet Akiir. Once we reach the designated meeting spot, we will decide upon what to do next. For the time being, it is just a matter of collecting information and avoiding our deaths. You understand, by doing this, we break many laws. Akiir disobeys a draft order as well as steals a ship that doesn't belong to him (since his will has been completed, his ship passed on to another). I disobey the order to ignore my boss' disappearance. We all flee the planet without validation, fraternize with the enemy, thieve a ure supply, and perform general hindrance to the war. We will surely be put to death if caught in the next few days. Still plan to come?"

"Still plan to come?"
A shudder of fear goes through my body (an extremely natural reaction for a Snodeck). I take a step back, looking at the Flispian as though he were a poisonous beast ready to pull me down to a painful grave. My life is the most valuable asset, without it I can do nothing...I know that sounds like an obvious and rather stupid thing to say, but Snodeck like keep all things in order. They try to keep their minds organized, and therefore even the most basic things must remain available as they are the foundation for everything else. Then a stronger feeling begins to surge through me; this feeling quickly conquered and threw aside my fears: my pride.
"Kek'Tar, when the Ure discovered Decka, we Snodeck welcomed them with open tentacles. They didn't need mind control to set up trade pacts with us. And as they did not find us suitable for military purposes hardly any of us have been sent to the wars. There are extremely rare Snodeck who are more adept at war, but even then, they are poor in comparison to the other races. Anyway...though our society was temporarily crushed with crashing banks, crazed Snodeck, and gun happy Tockneff, we were happy with this new race: they brought us more technology, travel to see more sentient species, commerce, and trade. But I was different, I saw through the Ure: I saw their mind reading, their mind control, and their endless trickery. They mocked our people in the streets, using mind control to halt our negotiations before we could even start them. They began to hold us in much more unfair trade agreements that soon became trade sanctions, mind controlling the King himself during meetings!!!!! Patriarchs were subject to the most foolish contract signings of their lives! And the worst thing of it all...the Snodeck don't even see this: their pride is in the wrong place. They think that they are smart enough to resist the Ure's mind powers. And as a whole we have been able to make up for what the Ure have taken, but the shame I see the people endure is unspeakable. Though many have done quite well for us by increasing our economy in off-world affiars, the Ure continue to see our wealth, and they continue to grow more hungry for our assets. All the while, Snodeck carry the banner of the Ure in place of their own. They have forgotten the prestige of the Royal Credit, and now they foolishly tote their grij to every bussiness deal. Kek'Tar, my friend, don't worry yourself about my attendance to this mission."
And then I manage to struggle out one of the most difficult sentences in the history of Snodeck.
"I shall...I shall...incin-incin...*sigh*...I shall incinerate those minerals if I have to!"
I then hold my head high, type a button or two on my lap-top, display a 3D model of the Royal Credit, perform a Klexian solute with my left tentacles, and a Royal solute with my right.

Notes:
1. Incinerate the minerals? First of all, how would this harm them? Second, you're on Flisp. Third, rocks don't burn.
2. Dragonfly is a perfect snodeck. Note that he did not ever actually mention whether or not he would be attending Kek'Tar's ship. Sneaky little jerk...
----------------------
Devvyn: After a long search in vain, you board the Magtran. Perhaps you'll have better luck in the other city. Perhaps you should update your progress more often.
All: You settle comfortably (relatively) in the Magtran. A warning buzz sounds and the door slides closed, blacking out the entire inside of the compartment. Moments later, it is flooded with light from ceiling lamps. Other than the six of you, the teleporting Ure, four other flispians, and the thelsic from earlier are also on board.
A few moments later, the transport drops to the lava below. The inside of the compartment immediately becomes slightly warmer. A voice sounds through the transport, but before it does, you hear a loud clunk on the outside of the transport, followed by a steady scraping that continues until the engines drown it out.
"Welcome on board the MagTran... we'll be going through the core today; it'll be faster. Don't mind Krekk, either... I've been trying to get rid of him, but he's been riding the outside of this transport back and forth for days. Anyway... let's get going!"
At this, the engines kick into gear. The craft is immediately propelled vertically into the planet. You feel a sickening lurch in your stomach as the craft accelerates to an extreme speed. You soon become accustomed to it, however. You wish there were some windows, though there would be nothing to see.
Later, you feel an extremely curious sensation as you pass through the core of the planet. It is difficult to describe, but it is as if you had been falling facedown and then flipped over to be falling faceup. Obviously, you have passed through the center of gravity.
(one post for stuff on the transport, if you'd like)

On the transport I am careful to avoid thinking about the mission much, as I fear that the teleporter must be in my mind. I am curious about the conductor's comment about Krekk. I head up to the front of the train and, if he seems like he can talk at the moment, I ask him a question.
"So what's the story with Krekk? Where'd you pick him up? I haven't seen a targa in a very long time..."

The conductor, while very engaged with his work, seems to be able to converse without any problem.
"Stupid little ball of armor... Went near the core one time and had to fly right through a cavern. That, obviously, is what the drill on the front is for; getting out of those caverns. Well, this thing just up and decided my ship is tasty, and has taken to waitin' around for me to leave and holdin' on. He's been to Kayrekkta and back about forty times now. I can't seem to get rid of 'im."
The conductor has a slight accent, but you can't place it. He lowers his voice.
"Saw that toelno ginta of a Ure toss 'im, though... Not that it'd hurt 'im... just mean, you know? Sure, I've kicked 'im around a couple o' times, but nothing that could really scare 'im... this guy went and tossed 'im off a six hundred foot ledge! I'm gonna find some way to get him back for that, I'll daresay; that is, if I ever get back from this recon mission to greadea."

Geez, everyone left without me. Oh well, at least I'm not completely ignored... -------------------------------------------------------------------- I really didn't know how I got myself involved in this mess. Really, I thought getting myself a tockneff would be a good idea. But now, I'm starting to regret to drag into this whole mess about fighting the Ures and all. I mean, I coudn't care less and for some reason money wasn't an issue with me at the moment. After my 'act', I stood up and soon a flispian, and some ure came, and though I couldn't get a say in things, I wasn't completely lost. Really! Everything is just scroop to my ears and I have every nerve to leave this planet and beat the scroop out of Vyin! ARGH! I shuddered. No, I'm thinking this all wrong. If I went back now, I'd never get that promotion. No, my pride is at stake, though I already staked it when I cried. Then, though it's a no-brainer on what I should do, I'm still unsure if I should involve myself with a motley crew. So I stick around, just listening what everyone had to say... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I can only be online for two hours and I could lose a lot of rolepaying with so many players. I just hope I can keep pace with everyone here.

Notes: 1. Incinerate the minerals? First of all, how would this harm them? Second, you're on Flisp. Third, rocks don't burn. What if, hypothetically, I end up in transit...transporting the newly harvested minerals to Decka, and the Ure decided to relieve me of them. At which point I tell the Tockneff pilot to set a course straight for Nablas (the star), get in an escape pod with me, and watch as the cruiser as it flies straight into the relatively young star. Would these Flispian minerals have the strength to survive that? 2. Dragonfly is a perfect snodeck. Note that he did not ever actually mention whether or not he would be attending Kek'Tar's ship. Sneaky little jerk... Shhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! <waving hands for GM to be quiet>
